Team Fortress 2 Classes Detailed

By Dirik Hameed

9 different classes all with different abilities, its own skin and individual skills and abilities along with health and movement defences. From its large community, like with CSS game servers, Team Fortress 2 has a huge array of custom maps and mods. It is two years since Team Fortress 2 game servers first came out, and it is as popular as it has ever been.

Team Fortress 2 servers have 9 classes that are split into 3 sub classes based on support, defensive and offensive. You don't have to play them as those roles but they have been developed so that their weapons and skills are best used in those positions.

On Team Fortress 2 servers without an effective defence, you will lose. Having a good back line is needed to stop the scout from sneaking through your defence.

Without a proper gun you have to be skilled at this class to know how to play indirectly unless you like using the bottle to melee with. Using the games engine and physics to his advantage, he can take out enemies very effectively. The grenade launcher is extremely strong and can take our classes with small healths with just a couple of hits. The grenade launcher is also great for taking sentry guns that are around tight corners with relative ease. Laying sticky grenades as traps near intelligence or control points is a very good tactic. Just lay a few where they won't be easily seen and watch the kills roll in. If you suck at aiming and like big bangs, try this class!

Our next class is the Heavy. This guy really packs a punch. He is also the heaviest and slowest of all the classes but makes up for that in the fact he has the most health and the biggest gun. He can take down most things in a matter of seconds. The only enemy he struggles against is his opposite number. He can take on large number of enemies at once and has a great range and wide range However his mini gun does take a while to rev up. Once he hits you, don't expect to move in a hurry! Heavies work best with someone else covering their back while they fire. If you have a point to prove on game servers, choose this guy!

The engineer should normally only need to attack players when he comes under fire himself. His role is to deploy and maintain buildings that are helpful to his team. They are best known for their sentry guns which are automated turrets which can be upgraded by whacking them with the wrench. You'll find the engineer searching the map for metal in order to do this. The dispensers will also resupply nearby units as well. Teleports are an excellent way of moving players from one part of the map to another. This may be from the spawn to an obscure place outside the enemies base. Unfortunately they aren't so hard when it comes to one on one. However, they are still very capable at close to medium range and best to stick to within their own buildings If you like turrets and building, the engineer is for you.
