Everyone who has ever played a video game has heard of the Mario brothers, the game is a common household name. No matter what age, young or old, this dynamic duo is well known has gotten so much great exposure over the years from all of series that were produced. The history of Mario is quite interesting as it continues to still get a lot of attention.
The Mario Brothers was not always a home video game that was played each on the televisions of almost everyone's home. It was not always like that as the game started as an arcade version first as Donkey Kong in the year of 1981 and the character was a carpenter known only as Jump Man.
Donkey Kong along with Donkey Kong Junior also were hits among the arcades too. It was Nintendo that began the development on a spin off game for Jump Man in the year 1983 and Mario Brothers was then released later that same year. The side view platform game like Donkey Kong then introduced players to his brother Luigi, which then allowed two players to be able to play simultaneously. The brothers then became plumbers in this version of the series.
The Super Mario brothers was out on the market in 1985 and is still a classic to this very day. Then the Super Mario Brothers 2 was released in Japan in 1986 and it was to be considered to have a much more higher level of difficulty than any other version made.
Nintendo then choice to put out a much more modified version of the Japanese Doki Doki Panic game and was sent out on the market as Super Mario Brothers 2. After that, the development of Super Mario Brothers was out on the market in 1990. It got some great reviews and was considered the best of the long line of the Mario series.
From its beginning as just an arcade game Mario climbed its way to the top of the stack of video games. And has the history to prove it. Nintendo Wii, released in the year 2006 is yet another part of the never ending series of a video game that will go on until the end of time being known as the greatest of them all in regards to video games.
