Druid Leveling Guide

By Jurinsthea Smith

Whether you choose a Balance Druid or a Feral Druid, a Druid is always a great class for leveling. It is simply because, even if you get some damage, you are able to heal up. This article contains the description of Balance leveling build and a great Feral Leveling build. Although, the full Restoration build hampers your leveling, the Restoration tree can be taken partially.

Feral Druid

As a Feral Druid that wants to level up fast you should specialize in your Cat Form ability because the damage done in Cat Form is better than the Bear Forms available. There are some talents that are better for Bears then for Cats so these can be skipped. Please note that this is a solo leveling build that focuses on maximizing the damage of your Cat Form.

Feral leveling build

Instead of saying why the talents that are chosen are chosen, I will tell you why you can skip the ones that are not:

Feral Instinct: The ability of Bear is 'Swipe' that you can skip. Remember visibility that is reduced is not important while leveling.

Thick Hide: This talent does not add anything to quicker leveling, but supports the tanking kind of Druids.

Brutal Impact: This is rather a Bear ability as it decreases the cooldown of Bash and thus the Bash lasts 1 more second. On the contrary, it provides an additional 1 second to the Cat during the Pounce stun period. Nevertheless, spending a point here is not a bad idea at all.

Natural Reaction: Obviously, it is Pure Bear talent.

Primal Tenacity: I would like to state that this is pretty bad for leveling purposes as you remain in the Cat Form and the effects of Stun and fear are not a killer during leveling.

There are three reasons for addition of some Restoration talents to this build: The first one is Improved Mark, as one of the better buffs out there; Secondly, the Naturalist contributes to the increase of damage done by 10%; Finally, Omen of Clarity enables you to use your abilities without spending Energy.

Balance Druid

Get possible damage when you are a Balance Druid, but be careful that you do not run out of mana very often.

Balance leveling build

Genesis: The only Dot's usable are Wasp Swarm and Moonfire, which is not so worthwhile.

Brambles: While leveling, plenty of Entangling Roots are supposed to be used along with Bark skin, Thorns and Treants boosted.

Improved Faerie Fire: You need not to spend much time casting this on a mob as it is more for raids.

Both the Feral and Balance talent build focus on maximizing the damage output. Why? Well the answer is simple; you don't need a lot of survivability because you can heal up from time to time anyway.
