By David Amor

One of the most popular sports in the world is Formula 1. It will take an enormous amount of skill to establish a name to it and way back in the 50's Season; there were only a handful that can do it just like the official season champions. With a history that is ongoing for over 60 years, the sport has remained as one of the best until these days. Nevertheless, it is must to track down its beginning and how far it came up until the after-War days. In the succeeding article, you will get to know the pedigree of the Formula 1 champions and likewise some of their hard-earned cash and the reasons behind their ultimate success. If you have a thing for the sport, you can read on this article:

1) Giuseppe Farina

The first Formula 1 winner was Giuseppe Farina. This Italian born driver used Pirelli tires, pretty much putting the company on the map. He had three wins and three podiums. Also, three times he took the fastest lap honors and amassed a total of 30 points, besting out everyone else in the series. The engine was an Alfa Romeo, which would win the following year as well when Juan Manuel Fangio would take the title.

2) Juan Manuel Fangio

Juan Manuel Fangio had won the championship in 1952 and 1953 and had a break for the next two years. But his comeback earned him four consecutive victories. He was the first ever driver who won two more than two championships. Nevertheless, his winning run ended when Mike Hawthorn of Great Britain came to be in 1958. His victory did not last for too long as the next year would make way for another great time in F1 racing.

3) Jack Brabham

Brabham claimed the top spot in the 1959 and 1960 season, driving a Cooper engine. Any win is good for Brabham, but the one that he won in 1960 was the best. He created a new record on points with 43. The record was unbeaten until 1963, when Jim Clark dethroned him with 54. Nevertheless, Brabham made a comeback in 1966 to get his third and last Formula 1 racing victory.

4) Jackie Stewart

Formula 1 driver Jackie Stewart scored big in 1969, 1971, and 1973, with three F1 championships. Stewart's final year to win would bring with it a new points record at 71. The record would not stand for long, though its accomplishment at the time would be spectacularly noteworthy.

F1 has come a long way since its inception. The last two years Sebastian Vettel has claimed both titles, smashing the points record in the process with 256 in 2010 and then an astounding 374 in 2011. who knows where the sport will end up? But as for the history, it's a long and rich one.
