Ways To Choose A Gaming Mouse

By Kevin Mai

Trying to decide which is the best gaming mouse can be a difficult task with all of the newest features and buttons on them these days. Features such as laser sensors, new buttons, DPI settings and so on, make them confusing if you do not know what you are looking for.

It is also important to do some research and choose the manufacturer wisely. Some of them offer warranties and so on that others do not. If you do not know what you are looking for, it can be difficult to make the right choice. Before you go out and spend your hard earned money on an expensive one that does not quite do what you need, consider some of these tips.

Key features to look for include the buttons, grip, layout and sensitivity. Sensitivity is important because you will want the one you select to move easily, but not be overly sensitive. You should try to find one that is adjustable so that you can set it how you would like.

The more buttons that you can program, the better it is. This way you can use it for specific actions in your game without having to resort to the keyboard. Some will even allow the user to set up what is known as a macro, or series of events or actions, making it an even better choice for game playing.

A lot of people prefer to use a light one over a cumbersome and heavy one. Finding a model that allows for weight customization can be beneficial so that it can be adjusted to how the user prefers. Some models also feature fancy lighting schemes and other neat little effects that people have fun with. These are a matter of personal preference.

The way that you choose to hold it can also play an important role in your game playing. For example, if you hold it primarily with the tips of your fingers, known as the claw grip, you will probably be more comfortable using a smaller, more compact version. If you normally rest your whole hand on it, also known as the palm grip, you will be more comfortable using a larger one.

These are some of the key features when you are shopping for the best gaming mouse. Looking at the DPI will help you to make sure that it has the sensitivity that you are looking for. You will also want to compare your initial choices until you find the one that will suit your gamer needs and your budget.
