There's more out there that goes bump in the night than what's under your bed or in your wardrobe. Nowhere else is that more obvious than in Resident Evil 5, the most recent version of the popular horror survival game franchise, Resident Evil. You can regularly gauge a games rise in the ranks when it jumps from one medium to the other. They made a movie or 2 (or three) about this one didn't they with big stars? In spite of the flick kudos, gameplayers still like to stick with what they know and create their own destiny with the Nintendo game series. Resident Evil 5 has been released for the Xbox 360 but also has a later date of release in 2009 for the Playstation 3.
Here's a little back story for those that have no idea. As you can guess something menacing has happened to get this entire ball of wax off and rolling. In the original Resident Evil, the tale occurs in Raccoon City involving the bent experiments of a company called the Umbrella Co.. The company made a biological called the T-virus. As with all hideous horrific tales, the experiments go wrong and infect each living species in and around Raccoon Town.
The original team sent in to research blood-thirsty undead and mutated animals is known at STARS, Special Methods and Rescue Service, Congratulations team. As you can imagine, they get felled by living dead so the Alpha team is sent to save them. And, the tale continues thru one or two Resident Evil games till you arrive at the newest release. Each game builds on the first story and most happened inside days of the other versions. Starting with Resident Evil 4, the location for doing battle is no longer Raccoon Town. In Resident Evil 5 characters are whisked away to Africa to once again clean up after the Umbrella Concern.
The Xbox 360 has the high definition feature for boosted 3D graphics and fact of play. Gameplayers have managed to play as one or two characters during the past. Once the final supervisor battle was played another player was unlocked and play started again as another character. This game features over-the-shoulder play as Chris Redfield with the assistance of his colleague Sheva Alomar. New to the Resident Evil 5 game is the facility to control 1 or both players which was never the case before. Achievement in the mission is dependent upon both players working together. Also , the game can be played in a multiplayer role on and offline for more excitement. When playing online with another, the screen splits to see the game from the viewpoint of both.
Fans of the first Resident Evil will go head-over-heels for this one with the great new features provided by the Xbox 360 and continuing story in accordance with the rest of the Nintendo game franchise. The game is rated M for mature due to a lot of blood and gore and intense violence.
