Rift, The New MMORPG, Guide

By Android Hariram

Rift previously known as Rift, Planes of Telara is the latest massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) and from with its fabulous reception, it looks set to take the online gaming to the next level. Not long after the launch, it had over one million subscribers. At the time of the launch, Rift had 12,000 weapons for you to arm your various characters.

It is set in the 3D fantasy world of Telara, a world rich in Sourcestone. Telara is protected by a magical Ward but as a result of treachery, there are Rifts mainly where the planes intersect. These Rifts are elemental instabilities and when a rift is opened, enemy monsters spawn out and proceed to specific area on your map. The people of Telara must fight and destroy these monsters and seal the Rift, if not a foothold develop. This becomes more difficult to deal with.

You will be at a slight disadvantage if you are new to MMORPG. The online gamers who have played other games such as WOW for years, will have little difficulty working out how Rift works and will power level up to 50 in no time. Having a guide is very helpful and I hope this article will be an encouragement.

Once you reach level 50, several options and challenges become available. You are able to go on 10 and 20 man raids and lots more. This makes effective leveling the most important aspect of the Rift game. You need to, not just get up to level 50 quickly, but be well equiped to cope with the challenges ahead.

There are four ways to approach levelling. These are questing, closing rifts, grinding and dungeons. When you join the game, you start at the tutorial zone and this spans up to level 6 or 7. As a Guardian, you are in Mathosia and, as a Defiant, you are in Terminus. There are no rifts here and you can only do quests.

Questing gives you experience, coin, equipment and faction gain while closing rifts gives you experience but not a lot of equipment or faction gain. You cannot leave the Tutorial Zone until you complete all your quests. From here you move up to the Freemarch or the Silverwood Zone. A good move is to remain here until you level up to about 20. Quest and close rifts here. It is better not to go looking for rifts and closing them but if you see one, join in the fun for good gain.

Dungeons is a great way to get up the levels very fast. Get a group together and if you have a good group working well, then you could get up to level 50 in a matter of days. Dungeons becomes available at level 17. You can get excellent experience although the equipment gain is not so good.

If you feel you are slipping behind, grinding is one way to catch up. Grinding is killing the enemy over and over again. If you can persist with this, you will level up effectively.
