Types Of Solitaire Game To Play

Types of solitaire game that are played today have come a long way since the first documentation of its beginning. The 1st rule book was actually published in the late 19th century the author was Lady Adelaide Cadogan. This type of card game can be played alone or with others depending on the preference. This game started in Europe being called patience and eventually traveled around the world becoming known as solitaire as well. This type of pastime has been enjoyed for centuries and now online, finally evolving into family fun night. This type of cards is also used for memory enhancement therapy and has showed great results.

Spider solitaire is a type of cards that requires two decks of cards. There are ten piles made with fifty two of the shuffled cards and the other fifty two cards are used when there are not any more plays available. When the cards are in order following the lineup of king, queen, jack, ten, nine all the way down to ace for the number one spot it is removed and then continues until all cards are cleared.`

Mahjong can be played alone or with up to four players. It is timed and needs to be finished as quickly as possible. The tiles are cleared by matching two of the images and the quicker this is over the more points that are awarded. This version specifically has been documented to help heal memory ailments.

Pyramid solitaire is played with just one deck of cards. The placement is started with one card the next row consist of two and so on until you have a line of six cards. The rest of the cards are used to remove the pyramid cards by making pairs that equal thirteen. The scoring is a king equals thirteen so no match is needed and the queen and the ace makes thirteen and can be removed. To win all cards have to be removed.

Tripeaks is a version of the pyramid style. Playing is different because in this version the cards are removed in order, either numerical sequence or in reverse. An example would be; three, two, three, two, ace, king, ace, king, queen and so on. With this style you can play on either side of a card working both directions.

Klondike solitaire is a favorite of this variation of cards. It is played with a regular fifty two card deck and laid out traditionally. The first row contains seven piles then the second row consists of skipping the first pile and then adding to the other six. This is continued until you have one in the first pile, two in the second pile, and three in the third pile and so on until you reach the seventh pile.

Freecell is played with four home spaces on the top left and four free spaces on the top right. A deck of cards is then dealt into eight columns underneath. The object of the game is to create runs of king, queen, and jack on until you free and ace which goes into one of the free spaces. You then build on them ace, two, three, four until all cards have been removed.

Types of solitaire game are numerous and all began with the one named patience. Over the years different people have changed the style around to suit their taste and it spread over time leading to the different types available today. Used to treat memory ailments as well as just having fun makes this one of the most enjoyed pastimes by people all over the world.
