The Legend Of Zelda Master Sword

By Todd Alan

Video gaming has a bunch of famous swords. Unfortunately, many of these swords look just about the same. Long, sharp blades might be superb for game play, but they don't necessarily make for great collectibles. If you'd like to find a good blade that will actually stand out, though, you may want to think about one of the many swords from the Legend of Zelda series. Not only are these swords unique, but they often have characters all their own. None of the swords are quite as unique, though, as the Master Sword.

The Master Sword is one of the few constants in the Legend of Zelda series. From the series' first incarnation on the Nintendo Entertainment System to the versions released on modern systems, this sword has often been Link's strongest weapon. Though the graphics have changed over time, the basic look of the classic Zelda Sword has always kept a consistent appearance. As one of the most famed swords in the gaming, its capabilities and design are provoking to this day. It is not difficult to recognize in just about any situation, no matter if it is hanging on a wall or represented in Nintendo's latest game.

The Master Sword itself is a basic two-handed sword with a tell-tale blue hilt. The scabbard of the blade might change from time to time, but the hilt and blade always stay the same. Most available versions of the sword feature the thinner look that was more popular in early games, though some do feature the sword in all of its modern glory. No matter the changes in design, though, the classic hilt is instantly recognizable by anyone that has ever picked up a video game controller.

There are a considerable number of swords in the Zelda universe, but none are as well liked as the Master Sword. Nearly every version of the game starts the lead figure out with a simple wooden weapon and moves on to a simple metal sword, but the Master Sword is always the ultimate weapon. An illustration of the hero's strength and capability, most recreations do capture the classic look and the feel of the blade. Whether you need to find a standard representation or a modern look, there are reproductions available that can suit your needs. Making the effort to find the perfect version of a Zelda Sword can be a long process, nonetheless it can be a great investment.
