Maybe your Farmville life has been lacking something lately. Perhaps you plowed through the beginning levels and earned lots of coins, but you're in a bit of a rut. You're not sure how to get more coins.
When this happens, it's important to keep in mind the fact that the best crops to plant and harvest, in terms of their profit per hour, don't stay the same as you level up. During levels 1-4, the top crop is strawberries -- they earn 6.25 coins an hour. At level eight, raspberries become the top crop, earning 13 coins every hour.
Although, it's more than just coins per hour -- time is also a big factor in deciding the best crop. If you can't harvest raspberries every two hours, pumpkins might be better. They make significantly less each hour (8.25 less coins to be specific), but are less demanding on your time, since they take eight hours before they're harvestable. So if you want more time, and would be satisfied with 4.75 coins/hour, pumpkins are your crop.
At level seven, it's almost equal between pumpkins and rice as far as which one is best to plant when you don't have a lot of time, as pumpkins earn 4.75 coins per hour over eight hours and rice earns 4.25 per hour over 12 hours. It really just depends on your schedule.
Perhaps you have a really open schedule. If this is the case, raspberries are the way to go during levels 8-16. Raspberries are ready to harvest in a very short period of time -- only two hours -- and earn 13 coins an hour. And during those levels, 13 coins per hour is the best you can make from any crop.
When you hit level 17, you have the option of sticking with raspberries or going with blueberries instead. The advantage with blueberries is that they free up some of your time because you don't have to harvest them every two hours; blueberries take four hours instead, making 10.25 coins per hour.
Planting raspberries in a field containing 16 plots will yield 9,856 coins in profit a week. Although, keep in mind that a 16-plot field is very small, so you can easily make much more than 9,856 coins each week if you increase the field size.
It's always important to keep an eye on the amount that different crops earn as you increase in levels, especially because raspberries and blueberries won't remain the highest earners forever. The best way to figure out what crops earn the most per hour is to use this formula:
(Total Coins Made When Selling Crop - Cost to Buy Seeds) / Number of Hours for Crop to Reach Maturity = Coins Made Each Hour from Crop
If you're using that formula to keep track of the highest earning crops as you level, making coins should never be an issue for you. Happy farming!
