Now Easy To Play DVD on Wii

By Jenny Pane

Most of those who have availed of that Nintendo's console wondered about the absence of its DVD playback capability. Basically, this device was only preloaded with the ability to play the Nintendo wii gaming console and Nintendo gamecube game titles. Several attempts to make Wii DVD possible on it were all unsuccessful and in vain. Another thing that the console is able to do is to load images through a memory card and browse them straight to it.

With the initiative of some intelligent people, a great solution to the problem has been made. It is now possible to play DVD on the console by simply using softmod. What those smart computer programmers did was to create a special software that does not originally come from Nintendo nor is it licensed by the said company. Yes, it's a third-party software that must be installed on the unit so it can run other applications other than merely playing games.

Learning how to conduct the process is so easy over the Internet. It's possible to manually modify the hardware of the unit. However, doing so is very risky. For one, you may encounter some sorts of problems along the way which can cause damage to the unit, physically. Plus, there's also the risk of making the product warranty void. To fix these problems, installing wii homebrew is advisable.

Aside from being able to play DVD, this third-party software offers other great things, too. It is capable of making backup discs, enabling retro's or region-controlled games, and unlocking the unit to allow other applications on it. Without a doubt, the fun and total entertainment that it provides are worth your money and even more.

Generally, there are two methods that you can use to unlock the device-hardmod or softmod. One of the known disadvantages with the former option is that it's not favourable to the manufacturer. Since it's not licensed, it may leave some traces that may cause the unit to be damaged or may void the warranty of the product.

Truly, it's now easy to Play DVD on Wii. By installing a small, hidden channel on a system, your console can already acquire that libdi file which enables you to watch your favourite videos with the MPlayer application, an open source media player. Just be careful, though, because anything wrong that you'll do may damage the unit. This time, you can already invite your friends and family members and experience the fun that's available through your console.
