Repairing A PS3 By Yourself

By Vince Radwell

Have you been wondering how to fix that blinking red light on your PS3? You have come to the right place to learn about this issue.

Even if the PS3 does have its own set of issues, it is still more durable than the Xbox 360. when the blinking light on the PS3 started, people thought it was caused by the game Call of Duty 4. this was soon discovered to not be the case as many people who did not get Call of Duty 4 were also having a blinking light issue.

You should really contact Sony if you have no idea where to start while looking to fix your console. However, it is usually an issue of overheating hard drive that is causing the blinking light.

Remember, safety first, so never open your console by yourself. If your warranty has expired, it is most likely that you will have to pay around $160 to fix it.

Most of the time it is actually a problem with your hard drive, as in the connection of the hard drive or the hard drive itself is damaged. Don't let this dishearten you though.

One of the quickest ways to fix the problem with your PS3 is to carefully re-set the hard drive yourself. You have to very carefully take the hard drive out of your machine and put it back in.

The problem with the blinking red light on your PS3 should end after you re-set the hard drive. However, if it did not, you should purchase a new hard drive. Sometimes, you might have to replace the entire PS3.

The chances that you will have to replace the entire PS3 are very low as this process has been known to work about 90% of the times its been used, however, if you have to replace the hard drive, it still will cost you much less than the $160 to get it professionally fixed.
